  1. Hello,
I bought western wood products pellets. I find that the pellets work fine in my quadra-fire stove. BUT when I brought the ton of pellets home from Big R, a LOT of the bags were not sealed very well, and was frustrated that I had to carefully handle the bags because of the gaping holes at the top of the bags. Pellets were all over the place, and I couldn’t stack them the way I wanted to due to limited space.
Come on Western, do a better job at sealing your bags, and do some quality control.

  2. Western wood pellets. Worst we have ever used…residue, clumps, soot on glass. We din’t have a choice since Tractor Supply decided the season was over…dumb decision here in a mountain region.

  3. These used to be a great product, but really regret purchasing the last ton that I did. There are so many clinkers, so much ash and debris since they changed their pellets, I would highly recommended going with a different pellet brand.

  4. Although nearly anything will burn in a pellet stove, the quality of the burn and residual do have an impact on the stove. These pellets crumble rather easily. They are mixed pellets (i.e., not 100% wood and likely contain bark). The leave a lot of clinkers and residual in the pot and do not burn hot. With that said, they still work, but not as well as other brands. The Western Pellets I have are labeled as “premium” and not “super premium” as the above paragraph states. I saved $25 buying a ton of these, but definitely wish I would have spent the extra $25 on another ultra premium brand (Heartland) that I had used before.
