Bought a few bags to try by far the worst pellet I’ve ever burned very compatible to the uncle jeds. I’ve burned heartland for years and will stick with them.
THESE ARE THE WORST PELLETS I HAVE EVER USED. I have been burning wood pellets for about six years now. These pellets fall apart in the bag. They clog up my burn pot in three to five days. Produce a large amount of ash, can’t even go a week and I need to clean out the stove. These are garbage don’t buy these. I purchased these at Menard and I’ll let them know about the quality of this product.
Sorry about the negative comment. Found out that the exhaust fan was not working properly. Now the Wood Fibers, Inc pellets work Great. Recommend that you check yours before you blame the pellets. Mine was running slow. Had to check the speed of the motor.
I do not have a pellet stove with an auger in the heat chamber. Having trouble with Wood Fibers pellets that they do not burn up and clogs up the grate. This causes a backup in the pellet auger shout about every 3 to 4 hours.
we purchased 5 pallets of these pellets from Menards in Oct. of 2015…Three different stoves used these pellets and they are the worst pellets we have ever used. we have had our stove for 10 plus years..Menards will take them back thank goodness…we will get our pellets some where else..
We have been selling their pellets for 2 years. This year they are HORRIBLE. We have had 2 customers find nails in their pellets and when we called the,….they said it was impossible. We had a box cutter, a intact box cutter in a bag of softwood at our shop. Sent pics and nothing. Please save yourself some $$ and buy anything but these.
Wood fibers pellets are by far the worst pellets I have ever used. This year I bought a ton of blend and a ton of softwood so far I am still using the blend. Wow lots of ash and hard scale in the burn pot. I would not give these to my worst enemy and will never by them again, I hate these!
I bought a ton of these from Menards in December, they don’t burn well, we have to poke the ashes down with a poker several times a day. We have to clean the fire chamber every other day (once a week or more with other pellets). Bags are up to 30% sawdust rather than pellets. We have tried several brands, we are going back to the ones made by Martha Wood Shavings.
We bought four lifts of pellets from wood fibers inc through Menards and found rock adn sand in the pellets and found that they leave big chucks in our fire pot we have been burning pellets for six years and never had this problem before. We called the company and got the run around and never had any answer back getting sick of the run around.
This company needs to keep making pellets for bedding because they obviously don’t have the quality control to make pellets for pellet stoves.
As far as there pellet quallity goes, ive worked there for 2 years, ground up. and they dont care about what matierials go in what bags, the softwood has color to it because *a* they put too much hardwood in there, and it burns through the holes as its being pelletized. this is because the hardwood is more dence then the softwood, and the mills show this by over amping when you use to much hardwood. Of course it depends on the hardwood to, some are harder then others. also there softwood materials, *pine* come loaded with bark, they have no debarking system, and what they claim to be debarking just isn’t enough. This is probably why they only send sample bags into the PFI every 1-2 months, and make sure to pick out the best pellets from the best run. the rest, well thats for you there pridefull costomer. If you like cheep, bob’s ur boy, you like quality id go with in-deck or american wood fibers inc. Which is only located 15 miles from wood fibers inc. well one of there producers is, that would be vulcan wood products, and jeff gourdreu has been running his mill a self made man, for around 7-8 years. ive worked right along side jeff, and seen how he handles his mill, and situations reguarding its production. But if you like hit or miss pellets, go with wood fibers inc. if you like high quality pellets, go with the other guy. and sadly this is true. i can’t work for a company that is two faced like that, and never in my career have i seen such two faced management. And without even a shrug of the shoulder, like it was nothing. The worst management decision i’d seen there, and wonder how home-depot allows this, for i did send them a message reguarding this. When you buy a softwood fuel bag, do you expect ne hardwood, let alone a higher ratio of hardwood then soft? for this happens all the time down at wood fibers inc. although the plant manager can’t tell the truth from the mill to gunvilles office. his attempts to please gunville ususally result in lies. this passes right through the wood fibers inc. quality control. Put it this way, they shut down the mill, and clean it for a day or two before cleaning inspectors come, just to pass there inspections, even got invited to conventions because of our cleaning. they would only run softwood day of inspections. I dont know how much you all know about making pellets, but softwood sawdust isnt near as fine or dusty as hardwood, and doesnt produce near the fine dust. making cleanup minor. and its hard to pelleize the density just isnt in the material. so the mills run like tops all day long, stress free. I had called osha on them after i left, cause the working conditions already resulted in, * broken back, lost finger, hurt leg* What a joke this was! first osha calls and lets gunville know there comming and why, just incase he screwed up what to fix. then they wait 15-20 days, then they finally come per phone call warning. They inspect the mill, and write up fines, then give the employer 15-20 days to fix the fines, and what isnt fixed after that is accually fined. This man still failed inspections, and should be in his records, if not please email me at *[email protected]* i will gladly show anyone the records i have a copy’s of them. Its sad the conditions that they allow ppl to work in, and even demand. The day Bob fired me, he told me to run, kept yelling at me to run. with exposed belts and augers. Is this right?
