Blackstone Wood Pellets

Blackstone Wood Pellets

100% Hardwood – Premium Pellet Fuel

Blackstone Wood Pellets are manufactured in Connecticut from clean hardwood sawdust and engineered for high performance. These pellets deliver strong heat output while keeping ash levels low, making them suited for homeowners who want dependable, hardwood-only fuel.

Typical specs: Ash content of approximately 0.46% and a BTU output around 8,165 BTUs per pound in recent production runs. Designed for residential pellet stoves with a focus on hardwood performance.

Availability: Sold directly or through specific regional dealers in the Northeastern U.S., these pellets are often supplied by the manufacturing facility in the Blackstone River Valley. Because supply is regional and hardwood-only runs tend to be limited, check bag date, batch number and storage condition before buying large quantities.

Status note: The Blackstone brand remains listed among pellet fuels, though user reviews note some variation in batch quality—issues like higher fines or inconsistent pellet size have been reported. Testing a few bags early in the season is advisable.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is optimized for hardwood fuel and you’re seeking a premium product made from 100% hardwood with strong heat and minimal ash, Blackstone Wood Pellets are a strong option—just verify you’re getting fresh stock from a recent run.

      1. Blackstone bad rap?

If someone has a new stove and doesn’t have experience they should not leave a review. Softwood pellets are more desirable then hardwood. Blackstone are supposed to be a blend but sure do smell softwood. Why do you idiots want rock hard pellets? Thems the 1’s clogging your augger.Havent seen all the black pellets you’ll talking about. But can be a few in any brand. Got a 26 y.o. envirio ef2. It was making some auger noise but I got it to quiet down with wd40 on the bushing and by gently placing pellets in. Not saying 4 you to do but working 4 me. Take a prod once in a while and fluff the pellets loose down near the auger to make it easier on it. If you have a 80 to 120 lb mega hopper that’s putting the strain on your auger when you chuck it full. So these may smoke a little more then other brands. That’s why you do the cleaning and maintaining. Besdes it’s easy to just clean the glass off with a clean old sock or rag. Just add a little water to therag when cleaning when the stove is cold. Hit it with a rag when hot that’s dry all the time while running works fine. Would rate these 4 stars. But when it’s all rock-hard hardwood pellets and only these I will buy them again. But maybe there have been problems in the past? All I know is these January 2023 ones aren’t that bad and I did have to deal with a brand in the past that was rock hard and supposedly softwood with long ones that were tough to burn. Took a chance on 25 of these and after 7 bags so far so good. No more sawdust then others. Don’t see a pile at the end of bag but have seen some with others. Solution for that is swish that part around some and disperse evenly so not all goes in at once. But what do I know just a bum burning pellets for 7th year after burning wood 4 40. Now there’s some smoke and cleaning for ya! Buy local and these are locally made 4 me. Any spelling or mi ss inundation here blame on autocorrect. Relax pellets stoves will be replaced by heat pumps and new technology to come anyways! Dang u autocorrect! Peace and love don’t burn it down. Fire extinguishers, co2, and smoke alarms forever. And don’t leave no paper near the snow globe in the sun. Or you’ll be using that satey equipment. Happy 2023! Try a few bags so you loose less then$ 15

        Pros

        • Just 4 stars. Not to hard on auger. Decent price. No bag problems. Local - softwood and blend generally burn hotter better then hardwood and who wants hard burning pellets.

        Cons

        • There's better but these were the best choice out of half dozen higher priced hardwoods and a same price blend they recommended these.
