Does anyone have an Idea where I can order some in Canada? Having a hard time finding a location.
I have been using the Cleanfire Douglas Fir the last 2 or 3 years and will not use anything else. There is such a small amount of ash produced that I now only clean the flue stack once a year instead of 2X per year. My stove runs 24/7 and I can go almost 2 weeks without cleaning the stove. It is definitely hotter than anything else I’ve used. Not cheap, but clean and very high BTU’s. I could never go back to using a brand with a higher ash content.
Hey everyone, once again I am trying to find out some updated information on these pellets compared to the okanagan platinums or douglas firs. I have burned okies for the last few years and love them. However, this year, the place we usually get them from, will not deliver to our neighborhood! Thats over 24 tons they do not want to deliver!! With that said, it looks more and more like I will have to order from woodpellets.com and wanted to know if anyone has any updates on this specific pellet?
I absolutely love the Cleanfire Douglas Fir pellets. I’ve been using them for the last three years. The heat output is the best I’ve seen from any pellet, the ash is extremely light and they smell great. We were forced to use a lot of different pellets last year due to the shortage and compared to the two tons of Cleanfire pellets they were all junk.
Woodpellets.com has these pellets on backorder. I just called them (8/21/2014) and they don’t know when they will be getting restocked.
Has anyone tried the Okanagan Douglas Fir pellets? I’m so afraid that I’ll order three tons and they won’t stack up to the Cleanfire brand. I may just wait for woodpellets.com.
I am thinking of purchasing these off woodpellets.com. was curious if anyone had anything new to update on these. I burned Okies for the majority of the last year from a recommendation of a friend. Was happy with those. Curious to know if anyone has any new information.
Cleanfire pellets are terrible. The bags have a lot of fines, and they burn VERY dirty. I have a Harman that I have been using for 5 years, and throughly clean the stove every year. So far this year I have had to clean it 4 times already. I also, for the first time ever, have ash dust throughout my house. I am finishing up 4 tons, and will NEVER use thase pellets again. They should be renamed Dirtyfire!
I brought two tons of these pellets this year because I used Cleanfire Pacific pellets last year and they seemed to do a pretty decent job in heating my house, and boy they burned hot. This year when I burned these Pellets, boy they burned even hotter and I have to say I do not have as much ash as I did last year. However, they do have a sawdust smell to them which is weird, but that is something I can live with. Although they are expensive I have to say you actually get what you pay for and I rate these as premium grade pellets. Granted I am new to the pellet stove industry but I have purchased bags just as a test to see how they burn as well as the ash content is from Home Depot and Lowes, and boy what a difference I saw in the quality as well as ash from them. I even went to a lumber store around the corner from my house and tried one of their bags, still no comparison to CleanFire Douglas Fir. I am definitely going to purchase them again next year. I clean my stove every day and I really do not need to, I just like to ensure it stays clean. I have a Rika Visio Stove.
Clean Fire Pellets clogged my auger too, causing it to squeal. I found lots of fine dust in the hopper. Once I vacuumed it up the auger stopped squealing. But I don’t want to have to do this after every ton I burn. And, yes, I clean my Harman Accent insert pellet stove every year before the cold season. It was pristine before I began using Clean Fire Pellets. I’m done with this product.
I bought 3 tons of this pellet. Seemed to have a lot of fines, IMO, and kept clogging my auger. Burned woodpellet.com lowest grade last year without issue and then burned some Okies afterwards which were great. I wont purchase this “high end” pellet anymore. Also, notice a lot of large pellets. Burned very hot though,
Any further review of these pellets? Admin update?
