ONE OF MY FAVORITES!! THESE PELLETS ARE THE BOMB WHEN DIALED IN RIGHT FOR AIR AND FEED RATE!  HOWEVER, NOT CHEAP BUT BURN LONG AND HOT WITH A GOOD THERMOSTATE

CleanFire Ultra Douglas Fir Wood Pellets

CleanFire Ultra Douglas Fir Wood Pellets are crafted exclusively from softwood Douglas Fir sawdust, harvested as dead-wood material from the Pacific Northwest. With no hardwood mixed in, no bark, and no chemical binders, these pellets are built for maximum heat output and clean burn performance.

Typical performance: Recent production runs report ash content around 0.22%, moisture content near 4.4%, and dry-basis heating value up to 9,200 BTU/lb (≈8,550 BTU/lb as-received). These specs place this fuel among the highest performing bagged wood pellets available.

Availability: Sold through select specialty distributors and online from the manufacturer’s delivery network. Because this is a premium softwood-only pellet, availability may be regional and stock may sell out early in the season—check bag dates and ensure fresh stock before purchasing by the ton.

Status note: CleanFire Ultra remains a top-tier option in the softwood pellet category, prized for its clean burn, high heat and minimal ash production. As with all bagged fuels, batch and storage conditions matter—so verify freshness and storage environment.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is tuned for softwood fuel and you’re after “best-in-class” performance—hot, clean, low-ash—CleanFire Ultra Douglas Fir Wood Pellets are a standout choice and worth considering for serious home heating.

These pellets are JUNK. I purchased 2 tons from woodpellets.com because they are supposed to be the best. Advertised as low ash, clean burning and high heat. They are ANYTHING but that. It isn’t even the cold season in MA yet and in under 2 weeks I have burned through 3/4 ton, I have to clean my NEW absolute 63 burnpot DAILY and clean the black ash, ash pan and entire stove multiple times per week.
I feel like I got scammed here spending $1100 for 2 tons of junk. Many of the bags were received with holes in them and others had more dust than pellets.
I sent a message to the company today in the hopes they will do the right thing here. Maybe this is just a bad batch and if it isn’t I would never recommend purchasing these pellets.

I have NO PROS for these pellets. JUNK

      Disliked

      VERY high ash content
      VERY expensive
Constantly cleaning the burn pot and stove.
Bags received damaged and others with more dust than pellets.
They burn FAST so you go through twice as many compared to Mattra or other quality pellets that are a fraction of the price.
