Energex Wood Pellets
Hardwood/Softwood Blend – Premium Grade Fuel
Energex Wood Pellets are manufactured using a mixture of hardwood and softwood sawdust, engineered to deliver strong heat output and low ash for residential pellet stoves. They meet strict quality standards and are audited to ensure consistent performance.
Typical specs: Many product versions list BTU ratings above 8,300 BTUs per pound and ash content under ~0.5-1%. The blend of about 60% softwood and 40% hardwood in certain lines supports higher heat output while maintaining moderate ash levels.
Availability: These pellets are distributed across the Mid-Atlantic and New England areas through dealers and fuel supply retailers. Because the product is premium-grade, check bag date, storage condition and ensure the batch is from the current production run before purchasing large quantities.
Status note: Energex remains a recognized name in the pellet-fuel market and continues in production. That said, some user feedback reflects batch variation—particularly in ash buildup or burn pot cleaning—so it’s wise to test a few bags early in the season.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a high-end pellet fuel that balances strong heat and moderate ash in a blend, Energex Wood Pellets are a worthy choice—just make sure you’re buying fresh stock and your stove is tuned to handle the blend.

I have been burning Energex now for two years. I recently learned that I can get the exact same wood pellets at Lowe’s or Home Depot for much cheaper ($30-$40/ton) than the stove shop that carries them.
Look for Fireside Ultra in a black bag at Home Depots around New England – or Nature’s Own at Lowe’s.
Harman P-43: Using Energex pellets almost exclusively from day 1. (5 years).
If only because I have only ONE supplier who will not only deliver, but stack also for 50 bucks. (Got a bad back…so this delivery AND stack is great). I order 3 tons. Usually takes me from early October to late March.. Then….if I need more, it is a scramble to find any pellets at all in my area. Loews, Tractor Supply usually have some….and it seems no matter what brand,( and ALL the brands say
“premium” ) the P-43 burns them with good heat…and no problems. I vacuum and clean things around every 1/2 ton. Then have my dealer come every spring to give it a “professional” cleaning.
got 2 tons of these last year from a local pellet stove retailer and they burn hotter and cleaner than anything I have bought before, anything I have used before I actually used less than the other brands so the overall cost was less and I had 3/4 ton left over
makes the glass on my Harman invincible insert dirty faster than most other pellets. Seems to put off a darker smoke.
Low ash, best heat, nice hard pellet. By far my favorite. I rate 10/10.
Lots of ash hard clinkers daily will not buy again.
