Green Supreme Wood Pellets

Hardwood / Softwood Blend – Home Depot’s Most Common Pellet Fuel

Green Supreme Wood Pellets are manufactured by Lignetics Group and sold nationwide through The Home Depot and regional distributors. They’re made from a blend of hardwood and softwood sawdust sourced from sawmills throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Each bag is P.F.I. Certified for premium grade fuel and contains no additives or binders — just pure, compressed wood fiber.

Typical specs: 8,200 – 8,500 BTUs per pound and ash content around 0.4 – 0.7 %. The pellets are screened for low dust and packaged in durable 40-lb bags. They burn hot and steady, making them a popular “go-to” option for many Home Depot customers each heating season.

Availability: Green Supreme is distributed nationwide through Home Depot locations in states like Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Regional plants under the Lignetics umbrella produce different formulations to match local wood species, so BTU and ash numbers may vary slightly by region.

Status note: As of 2025, Green Supreme remains one of the most widely available retail pellet brands in the U.S. via big-box stores and local dealers — but bag date and mill origin still matter for performance, so always check before you buy.

Bottom line: Green Supreme is a dependable, widely available pellet that delivers solid heat and reasonable ash for its price point — a reliable everyday fuel for most pellet stoves sold at Home Depot and beyond.

  1. I swear by these pellets. I have used others, but nothing burns as hot and as good as these. I run a harmon pellet stove and i am so satisfied with the pellets and the stove. I found with any pellets that if you dont clean the stove at least once a month it wont burn efficiently. But 2 thumbs up for green supreme, they are they best at $4.38 a bag. the more expensive pellets i purchased did not burn as hot or as clean.

  2. I brought these green supreme wood pellets I never tried this brand before and will never buy this brand again. I have my stove on high in a insulated room with the doors closed and it is only 60 degrees.

  3. I bought 6 tons of Green Supreme pellets from Home Depot. Like other people commenting here I thought that being made by New England Wood Pellets was a pretty good guarantee of their quality. Not so. Like other people posting here they completely jam my auger. I have never had a problem with any pellet before. I have a pellet boiler and like another poster, I’ve taken the whole augur assembly apart to trouble shoot and IT’S THE PELLETS.

  4. I bought a ton of these from Lowes, Plainville, MA for $209 and have been very happy with them. Fair amount of ash but very few clinkers. Decent heat. I’m looking around for some softwood pellets to try for comparison.

  5. This is my 3rd stove and the best. I have a 6 yr old Quadra Fire Mt Vernon. Thermostat controled, Auto-clean, all computer controlled. This is my primary heat source. I have been burning Green Supreme pellets from Lowe’s for 2 years. ($207/ton) – LOVE these pellets. I burned NE Wood Pellets prior. (Same pellets). I only have to clean my small ash pan once every 2 weeks this year. Cheap price, HIGH heat. Wish I had room for a trailer load!
