LG Granules Wood Pellets

100% Softwood – Premium Canadian Fuel

LG Granules Wood Pellets are crafted in Quebec, Canada using softwoods such as black spruce and grey pine. The process focuses on minimal moisture, uniform pellet size, and low ash. It’s a choice fuel for those seeking strong heat with minimal cleanup.

Typical performance: Heating values reach around 8,500 BTUs per pound, moisture content is approximately 4–5%, and ash levels are under 0.5% in many production runs. These pellets are bagged in 40-lb units and are sought after by stove owners seeking premium softwood performance.

Availability: LG Granules are distributed through selected dealers in the U.S. and Canada. Because they’re imported and premium grade, availability may be limited in some areas—check bag date, condition and delivery source before purchasing by the ton.

Status note: The brand remains recognized in the pellet-fuel community for high end softwood performance. Batch variation and regional supply can still impact results, so it’s wise to test a few bags early each season for your stove compatibility.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is set up for softwood fuel and you want a premium option with excellent heat output and low ash, LG Granules Wood Pellets are a strong contender—just verify that you’re sourcing a fresh bag and your local supply is current.

Hi. I bought a bag of pellets thinking I can use it for an open fireplace.
Would it still heat ?…(it would fall through the grate.)

      2. LG are a solid pellet!

Harman Accentra Insert, installed in 2010. Been burning pellets for 12yrs now with this stove. I have used all kinds of pellets. Soft wood, Hard wood. With my stove, i don’t find a benefit to using expensive hardwood pellets. I really don’t find that they produce so much more heat for the difference in price. They may burn cleaner with less ash, but I don’t mind slightly more ash when paying over $100 less a ton. I have burned Okies and barefoot soft and I find that these LG’s are just as good as these other soft pellet brands at a discounted price! It’s very hard to read into people’s reviews when you don’t know what kind of stove they use, how often they clean their unit and the feed settings. So, that said, I clean my stove well after every ton, including a chimney liner sweep, I use a feed setting of 3 and an auto room thermometer setting to 70F. These LGs produce minimal clinkers with slightly more ash than a hardwood. I burn 4 tons per year and I stay comfortably warm while saving about $400/yr by not buying more expensive pellets. At writing, these are $365/ton in CT

      3. Burning LG for 9 years

I’ve been burning these for years at a rate of about 4 tons/year. I’ve tried a good variety of pellets over my time. these are fine. the ash is relatively low – I wouldn’t call it “little ash” Window soot is powdery and easy to clean – buildup is typical; I’ll clean my glass 1x week and that is with stove burning continuously. Heat output is a little low as compared to other premium softwoods, but when you are comparing costs, these are a great value.
