Green Supreme Wood Pellets
Hardwood / Softwood Blend – Home Depot’s Most Common Pellet Fuel
Green Supreme Wood Pellets are manufactured by Lignetics Group and sold nationwide through The Home Depot and regional distributors. They’re made from a blend of hardwood and softwood sawdust sourced from sawmills throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Each bag is P.F.I. Certified for premium grade fuel and contains no additives or binders — just pure, compressed wood fiber.
Typical specs: 8,200 – 8,500 BTUs per pound and ash content around 0.4 – 0.7 %. The pellets are screened for low dust and packaged in durable 40-lb bags. They burn hot and steady, making them a popular “go-to” option for many Home Depot customers each heating season.
Availability: Green Supreme is distributed nationwide through Home Depot locations in states like Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Regional plants under the Lignetics umbrella produce different formulations to match local wood species, so BTU and ash numbers may vary slightly by region.
Status note: As of 2025, Green Supreme remains one of the most widely available retail pellet brands in the U.S. via big-box stores and local dealers — but bag date and mill origin still matter for performance, so always check before you buy.
Bottom line: Green Supreme is a dependable, widely available pellet that delivers solid heat and reasonable ash for its price point — a reliable everyday fuel for most pellet stoves sold at Home Depot and beyond.

I burned 7 tons of these pellets this year, more than 50% of the pellets burned clogged up the burn pot alot faster than the others. I’m not burning these again their consistency is really horrible. This last ton (purchased @ lowes Concocrd nh) really taking the cake as far as poor performance.
We have a Lopi/Leyden pellet stove. We have used Stove-Chow, by Home Depot and absolutly love them!! Little ash and extremely high heat. This season, after the blizzard, Home-Depot ran out, we were told to go to Lowes, they still had pellets. So we purchased a large amount of bags, being that our season was obvisiously not over. These pellets, Green Supreme, are horrible. The glass doors blacken up with sut, within 5 minutes of turning on. The pot is jammed up with unburnt pellets which seem to overflow. Very disappointed as to them being called “Green”, they should be called “Black”.
I have purchased many pellet and I have not had any luck with anyother pellets These premium supreme pellet are the best pellets ever the only thing is Icant find anymore in my area. I usually purchase them at Tractor Supply in massena NY13655. Could you please tell me where I can find these. My allergies are so bad and all these other pellets except the green supreme are causein me to have bloody nose
I have a Napoleon NPI45 insert. Does anyone know what pellets are best in this particular model stove?
New at pellet burning this year and sure use some input.
Thanks
I bought 2 ton of these. Low ash but they do not burn hot and tend to pile in the pot. Maine choice burns hot and dirtier but they do not fill the pot after 24 hours of burning on high. I will stick with Maine Choice.
