Inferno Wood Pellets

Inferno Wood Pellets

Hardwood / Hardwood-Dominant Blend – High-Heat Fuel (Legacy Brand)

Inferno Wood Pellets were produced at a plant in Rumford, Rhode Island, using hardwood sawdust and residuals in large-volume production runs. They were marketed as a premium grade pellet fuel meant to deliver strong heat and consistent burns.

Typical performance (based on older user data): the pellets offered decent flame height but several users reported higher ash and more frequent cleanup compared to top-tier brands. Availability was strong in New England and some Mid-Atlantic markets for a time.

Status note: This brand shows limited current activity, and recent user forums suggest batch quality and manufacturer consistency declined. If you come across Inferno bags, treat them as legacy stock — check bag date, inspect for fines/ash issues and plan a test-burn before committing to multiple tons.

Bottom line: Inferno Wood Pellets may still function as heating fuel, but given their uncertain current status and past reports of variable performance, they are best approached with caution. Testing a few bags first is wise before purchasing large quantities.

  1. I purchased 4 tons of your pellets at abuchon hardware in Richfield springs new York the manager told me there was a few broken bags and to return them and he would replace them.as I started using them I am finding every bag is not sealed properly and falling apart loosing pellets everyware.I may have to take legal action for this problem as it not his fault.

  2. I have to say that these by far are absolutely the WORST pellets I’ve ever come across. I have burned multiple pellets over the years and got tired of stores running out in my area so to assure I had pellets this winter I bought 5 tons of Inferno pellets at Tractor Supply near end of summer. What a terrible mistake I made. So many unburned pellets in the ash and what a mess they made constantly! Never again will I buy these.

  3. Where in Southeast ct can I purchase inferno gold all I find is the red bag I want the gold bag he please.

  4. Have owned a Quad Fire Mt. Vernon insert going on 4 years. Used New England and other brands .This year just before delivery Agway calls and says they were all out of the N.E. pellets. They were bringing a brand called inferno.. Looked on line and after reading some of the comments got very worried about what I was getting. Worries over. Have gone through about 25 bags and I am sold on the inferno. Burn clean. Low ash. Great heat. Best yet. As long as the inferno keeps performing as they do I will be a returning customer.

  5. I have a quadrifire Castile freestanding stove and I bought a ton of Inferno gold from Big Y to try. They produce a good amount of heat and were a good price. The downside is they produce a lot of ash. I have to clean out the stove after 2-3 bags. I prefer these to what the big box stores sell and would buy these again if some of the more premium pellets were’nt available.
