American Freedom (by Hamer’s Hot Ones) Hardwood Pellets
100% Appalachian Hardwood – Premium Heating Fuel
American Freedom Hardwood Pellets, produced by Hamer’s Hot Ones, are made from clean, sawdust-derived hardwood from their Appalachian sawmill operations. The manufacturing process emphasizes low moisture content, minimal fines and very low ash—targeting high heat output with reduced cleanup.
Typical specifications list less than 1 % ash, under 0.5 % fines, and BTU values comparable with other premium hardwood fuels. Availability is typically in the Northeastern U.S., with dealers in Pennsylvania, New York, New England and surrounding states offering both bagged and pallet delivery.
Note on brand status: Hamer continues to produce the Hot Ones line under their own label. The “American Freedom” name appears to be a private-label or alternate bag version of the Hot Ones product. While the core pellet appears to be the same, it is wise to check the bag date and ensure you’re receiving the current run, as some user feedback suggests variation year-to-year.
Bottom line: If you’re after a top-tier hardwood pellet from a manufacturer with a long reputation, American Freedom by Hamer’s is a strong contender—just verify current stock and confirm the bag is from this season to ensure you’re getting the best batch.

I used American Freedom about 2 years ago. I was told that they were Hamer pellets. I didn’t believe the sales guy so I called Hamer’s and they said they were Hamer Hot Ones. The packaging was changed due to the pellets being sold directly to a place that sold pellets or something like that. They were okay, nothing special. I’m not buying again since there are other better pellets out there. But in a pinch I would use them.
