Cubex

Produced by a Canadian hardwood flooring company, Cubex Wood Pellets are made from sawmill shavings, planer waste and chips from slow-grown deciduous woods like oak, maple, birch, beech, ash, cherry and black walnut. Because of that raw material and a careful manufacturing process, they deliver serious performance.

Typical specs: over 9,000 BTUs per pound and ash content under 0.4%. They’re dense, clean-burning and built for people who expect more out of their pellet fuel. You’ll find them available through dealers in New England states (including New Hampshire and Maine) and across parts of the Northeastern U.S.

In short: if you’re running a pellet stove tuned for hardwood fuel and you don’t mind doing a bit of extra cleaning for the payoff in heat and burn efficiency, Cubex is a strong pick.

Total trash. I burned 1 ton and the ash filled up my vacuum and clogged the vent to the point where the stove shut off and wouldn’t run. This never happened to me before and I’ve had this stove for a decade.

A friend of mine wanted to try them so I gave him what I had left and he reported the same thing. Total trash and expensive trash at that.

Ridiculous amount of Ash that required frequent cleaning and filled my vacuum on 1 ton. Total waste of money and complete aggregation

Had good luck with last years batch of Cubex, that's why I bought them again.

      Disliked

This years batch seems to be dirty again. Like others have said, lots of ash and stove has to be cleaned often. Cubes, please start using some quality wood to make your pellets! Will be looking at a different pellet next year!

I have been using mainly Cubex for the past 6-8 years with mixed results with my Quadra Fire stove. So far impressed this year. Very low ash, no soot and good heat. Only negative is the price. Paid $8.15 per bag, which makes burning pellets almost not worth my effort. Needless to say, I didn't buy as many as I usually do.

I bought a few more pallets of Cubex this year and they burned much better than last years (2021) batch. I thought last years were on the dirty side (lots of ash). Saw a marked improvement with this years. Hopefully they stay on track.

Cleaner burning than in the past.

      Price went up again!

Absolute garbage. Burns awful if they catch. Need to do a complete stove clean after every bag. More I burned pellets go into my ash box then get burned. Will never buy again

A total failure. Don't by this crap! Firepot was totally clogged, overflowed with unburned granules. Tried on several occasions and it's -30C outside. Granules would not burn with a bright flame but orange and black soot everywhere. It looks as if some additives were mixed in that they wanted to get rid of.

I Like cubex pellets, they burn cleaner and hotter than the New England that we use to burn and a lot less ash.

      Liked

Bought 3 tons, on advice of stove dealer and reputation, and the fact that there aren't any other pellets to buy. Brand new Harman P38I, never burned any pellets before. Had a Harman Accentra for 12 years before.so burning pellets isn't a new thing. Never had a dirtier pellet.Heat is nowhere near what is stated, and have to empty ash pan every 3 days, and deep clean new stove every week!! Truly a shame was hoping for a new pellet, but at over $400 a ton talk about a rape job. Never again , Not sorry Cubex, you lost a customer!!!
