Enviro Empress Stove. Whatever you do…do not buy this stove. It is nothing but problematic. It worked fantastic for 1 season. Year 2 the auger needed replacement. Year 3 the auger needed replacement and the control panel broke. We are in year 5. The exhaust fan is broken. The plates are all bowed and rusted if you can believe that. How does a dry stove rust? Our dealer is so frustrated that when he is here, it isn’t even worth calling him. And cleaning… I have to clean this stove every three days minimum. Do not, do not do not buy this stove.
I bought my Enviro Empress for my home in NH at the end of December, 2010 and have had no problems. I’ve burned a ton of Okanagans and about a half ton of Vermonts along with a few bags here and there of others. It sometimes goes a week without any sort of cleaning and still has no issues. It can keep my 1350 sq. foot Cape around 70 even with daytime highs around 0. This stove will not blow you away with its blower but it does a nice job of radiating heat. On really cold days I will run a box fan between rooms to set up a circulation. I did have a couple of occasions where the burn pot filled with pellets after the fire went out. It turns out that the damper was just open too much. So far this has been a great stove and it doesn’t just look like a metal box with a fire inside. It looks like a traditional wood stove which can be important for the female half.
Enviro Empress pellet stove: * Could not find any pellets that do not overfill the burn pot… pellets routinely spill out and smolder on the sides and also get stuck in the space between the glass on the door and the gasket, which leave soot streaks on the glass. * Fan is not adjustable and is too slow when stove is set on lower feed rates, need separate external fan to help circulate warm air * During power outage the stove smoked very badly until pellets were all hand scouped out of hopper ** Would NOT recommend anyone buying this stove!!!
