Independence and Self-reliance Fröling P4 boilers provides a convenient, safe and environmentally responsible way to heat your home and hot water with wood pellets. P4 homeowners are assured of unusually high heating effi ciency, low heating costs, and use of an abundant, locally available, renewable fuel. With its ingenious, fully automated operation, this boiler is amazingly easy to use.
We purchased a P4 32/38 boiler in 2011 and it’s in its third heating season. We have a 4 ton silo for pellets, and a deduster. For best results, clean it every 3-4 weeks, before the ash bucket alarm, and before the ash builds up in the combustion area. The air-fuel ratio deteriorates, and the pellet feeder over-feeds pellets until the system jams up and shuts down. We have had two different pellet vendors, and the same behavior.
In January 2011, My wife & I purchased a Froling – P4 32/38 Pellet Boiler. It was installed and fired on 1/12/2011. My brother & I had built a pellet storage room to store pellets (abt. 8-tons)in. We also purchased a pneumatic suction system to move the pellets to the hopper on the Froling. It fills at 0900 & 2100 hrs. It works great and saves a lot of work! I have the boiler in my garage, where I heat my garage floor & ran the heat pipes underground into the house. The Froling has performed great! Although, I must admit the 2nd Year the dealer had to replace a “grate motor.” He was done in about 90 minutes. As for cleaning. I ONLY clean the Froling when it tells me to. There is a graphical display which will display messages, i.e. clean the Froling. The thorough cleaning is done once and that’s at the end of the heating year. Overall, I’d have to say this is one of the best purchases I’ve made; it keeps our house warm, works extremely well, and is very economically using pellets. I purchased it from Tarm Biomass, 4 Britton Lane, Lyme, NH.
