Tell me why the auger makes a clunking noise
No complaints about my Country Winslow Insert. It just works. I am curious what kind of pellets other owners feel are best for this particular stove. Softwood vs. hardwoods? Any particular brand?
My Lennox Winslow PS40 pellet stove has been absolutely rock solid reliable since the day I installed it in 2005. I am extremely surprised to see negative reviews of the Winslow here given the success I have had with mine. The stove effortlessly burns any type or quality of pellet fuel with zero issues. I keep it clean and it just does its job. I would recommend the Winslow to anyone. This is my first pellet stove, I considered Harman and Enviro when buying and went with the Lennox based on the dealers advice.
I was was disappointed to read some of the recent reviews above. I came to this site to check on what pellets were best this year and figured I would just check out what people thought of our stove. I have had the Lennox PS40 since 2004 in fact they weren’t even owned by Lennox then it was Country Stoves. Anyway we have had great success with our stove and absolutely love it. We have had to replace the POF and the ignitor once but over 8 years some maintenance is expected. We clean the stove out once a week and have it serviced once a year at the end of the season. The stove heats our whole first floor and warms the upstairs. It has saved us lots in oil over the years. We have learned that the right pellets make all the difference as to how the stove performs and how often it needs to be cleaned. I would recommend this stove as a reliable workhorse as it has treated us well over the years
Stay away! Stove is junk. Brand new and it is in need of repair already. Very unhappy with high pitched squeal noise coming from draft blower motor. Stove repair men have been here twice to fix control board. I am not impressed.
