      Summary

2018 – these pellets are still in the hopper and I thought for sure they were hardwood at first until I looks at the label.  So far, burning really hot and not alot of ash.  Super hard and dense wood pellets.  Burning great!!

      Pros

      • hot

      Cons

      • bag is thin

      1. Lignetics Green Supreme

        LIgnextics Green Supreme Pellets

        Pros

        • Better than other available options in my area, but they have turned into crap pellets.

        Cons

        • First let me note that I have my Harman stove professionally cleaned and serviced including the chimney swept annually as a requirement of my Insurance company. The company who I purchased the stove from recommended Lignetics and ubtil two years ago we hod no problems what so ever.
        • I have only been able to get the Lignetics Green Supreme Pellets the last 2 years and these things are TERRIBLE compared to the Lignetics Premium Qality wood Pellets in the white bag, even though the stated specs on the bags are the same. The "white bag" pellets burned cleaner and hotter than the green supreme. With the "white bag" the burn pot had very little residual ash for the daily cleaning, we had to dump our ash bin once per season after about 1-1/2 tons of pellets, and my fire bricks stayed reasonably clean.
        • With the "green supreme" pellets the burn pot fills with ash after about 8 houtrs of burning and must be scraped out and the ash bin has to be dumped out approximately every two weeks.
        • To make matters worse one corner of 4 out of 5 bags was not sealed properly this year tresulting in my having to tapoe 80% of the bags up to prev ent pellets from leaking out all over the place.
        • I read somewhere that Home Depot recently bought Lignetics, if this is true the quality has certainly gone in the toilet since the acquisition.
        • My stove company is actively looking for an alternative to these poor excuse for pellets. BELEIVE ME IF i HAD A DECENT ALTRERNATIVE TO THESE CRAP PELLETS I WOULD GLADLY USE THEM.

      2. Lignetics Premium Plus excessive Ash

        (3)

Lignetics pellets out of Showlow,( Premium Plus) AZ have a LOT OF ASH, they burn well and don’t leave much residue in the burn pot. I have to clean out the ash from my door every 2 bags and have to clean out the ash tray every 4 to 5 bags. The pellets were from the plant that made Heaters pellets, Heaters were better as far as Ash is concerned. The Green Supreme are very good overall.

        Pros

        • Burn well and little residue in burn pot.

        Cons

        • Excessive Ash, have been using my pellet stove for 11 years and the Premium Plus has had the most Ash of any pellet I have used. Reason for the lower rating.

Up to forty of fifty gags incorrectly sealed. Large loss of pellets during unloading procedure.

        Pros

        • Little dust.

        Cons

        • Up to forty bags out of fifty incorrectly sealed. Large loss of pellets. My local Home Hardware dismissive. Disgruntled!

      4. Read if its softwood/hardwood in package

        (1)

I’ll m finding that the hardwood/softwood lignetics are garbage compared to the 100% hardwood. More ash and less heat for the same price. Make sure it says Materials: Hardwood and not the Materials:hardwood/softwood. Drastic differences.
