Northern Warmth Hardwood Pellets

100% Hardwood – Oak Flooring-Byproduct Fuel

Northern Warmth Hardwood Pellets are made by converting clean, dry waste from an oak-flooring facility into a high-density pellet fuel. Because the raw material is hardwood (oak) and free of bark, additives or recycled plastics, they deliver solid heat and lower ash compared with some standard fuels.

Typical specs: Produced from oak sawdust and shavings; designed for residential pellet stoves in the Northeastern U.S. The brand lists them in their product line (alongside their softwood and premium fir lines). Available in 40-lb bags via regional dealers in New England and surrounding states.

Bottom line: If you prefer hardwood pellets and want a product that emphasizes clean raw material and consistent manufacture, Northern Warmth Hardwood is a very good option—just check for local availability and bag date so you’re getting the current season’s run.

“Status Note: Northern Warmth continues to list a Hardwood version (made from oak flooring waste) in its product lineup. Specs show ~8,200 BTU/lb and ~0.34% ash. Availability remains strong in the Northeast U.S., though users report some seasonal/stock variability. As with any pellet fuel, check bag date and make sure local dealers are in stock for the current season.”

What real users say

  • “Both the Doug Firs burn super clean — meaning very little ash. Lowest I have tested ever. Higher BTU’s than any other wood pellet.”
  • “I’ve tried the Northern Warmth ones and they do burn hot and clean but I’m wondering if they are nearly worth the double the price?”
  • “This year I bought 3 tons… I had the more pellet dust in each of the bags this year, not sure why. I wish I still had bought another two tons for this year.”

      Summary

The verdict of the Northern Warmth Hardwood pellets are in.  Wow, very nice hardwood pellets.  If you are a fan of the sweet smell of oak and that “new hardwood floor” just laid in the house smell then you are going to love cracking into a bag of these hardwood pellets.  My sniffer never fails and my hunch is that these pellets are coming from a hardwood flooring company.  If I was a gambling man then I would say either these are a rebagged Bayou wood pellet (who I thought are only shipping overseas) or Greenway.  Either way, they are high heat and redicoulously low ash!

      Pros

      • heat
      • ash
      • smell
      • solid bag

      Cons

      • I don’t have 3 ton in my garage
