O’Malley Wood Pellets

O’Malley Wood Pellets

100% Hardwood – Premium Appalachian Fuel

O’Malley Wood Pellets are made from 100% hardwood wood fiber with no additives, and come from sawmill residuals that have never come into contact with the ground—ensuring a cleaner burn and fewer contaminants.

These pellets are bagged in 40-lb units and produced in the Mid-Atlantic region. Their hardwood composition delivers a dense burn, strong heat output and lower ash compared to many blended or softwood fuels.

Status note: The brand remains listed and available through regional dealers. However, some users report batch variation in recent seasons, so it’s wise to check bag date, inspect for excessive fines, and test a few bags before buying in bulk.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is optimized for hardwood fuel and you’re looking for a locally-made, clean-burning option with strong performance, O’Malley Wood Pellets are a solid choice—just verify freshness and storage quality before committing.

      1. O'Malleys gone bad?

        (2)

BAD – Have been burning O’Malleys for years, my “go to” pellet brand; this last delivery all of the pellet bags had a LOT of fines and the pellets seem “moist”. When pouring into a metal storage container it sounds muffled like they’re full of moisture. Have to run.my QuadrafFire stove setting on 2/5 to keep the fire going. Fire has gone out three nights out of last four towards morning because pellets won’t slide down from feed area. Bad batch?? Ugh…

      3. Bad pellets

        (1)

        Bad pellets.

        Pros

        • 4 bags produce a 2 inch clinker and the stove will not ignite. First ton of O’Malley burned the entire ton without cleaning. The second ton, can’t make it through 4 bags without a clean out.

      4. Virginia and Marylands idiot governors must be in charge of Quality Control at O'Malley Timber Products.

I ran the O’Malley pellets thru my Harman P68, and they didn’t do too bad, that’s why I gave them a 3, and not a zero. I should have walked away when I saw how they were on the pallets. The pallets were split, broken, rotted and doubled up. (you know, cause two shitty pallets are better than one) Every pallet came apart when unloading the trailer, every layer of bags on every pallet had bags with slices in them from their equipment. There was at least a cup of dust(fines) in every bag. I don’t want to hear about how this was “Covid19 related”, that’s buIIshlt. This is piss poor quality control and you know it O’Malley. I will never waste another dime on your product, and I will urge everyone that will listen to me to do the same. I will drive to Pa and bring back one bag at a time of any other brand before I buy your crap again. There is no excuse for their sloppy half-fast junk product.

      5. Don't Buy

        (1)

Not good…we used O’Malley for years and then in 2018, the product went downhill. Lots of clinkers and clumps. Contacted O’Malley several times with no response. Used Lingnetics and Easy Blaze at the beginning of the season in 2019, both were awesome with no issues. Then couldn’t get them. Heard O’Malley plant burned and rebuilt. Thought we would try again thinking they made their product better. On day 2 of using and have huge clinkers again and not burning all the way through, even after slowing the feed down. Awful! Have 6 ton and don’t want them. Terrible product
