PurHeat Premium Hardwood Pellets
100% Hardwood – Premium Heating Fuel
PurHeat Premium Hardwood Pellets are made from 100 % natural hardwood sawdust—such as red oak, white oak, hickory, ash and hard maple—with no bark, binders or fillers. They’re designed to deliver high heat output, low ash and a clean-burn experience for homeowners using pellet stoves.
Typical performance: These pellets have been marketed to achieve around 8,500 BTU/lb and ash contents near or below 0.6 % under optimal conditions. The dense hardwood composition results in strong, steady heat and longer burn times compared to many standard pellets.
Availability: Available via select dealers, farm-supply stores and online retailers across the U.S. As a hardwood-only pellet positioned toward the higher end of the bagged market, check bag date and storage conditions to ensure you’re getting a current-season production run.
Status note: PurHeat continues to be listed as a premium hardwood pellet fuel, though user feedback indicates batch variability—particularly in older runs—so testing a small quantity early in the season is advised.
Bottom line: If your pellet stove is tuned for hardwood fuel and you’re looking for a pellet that delivers strong heat, low ash and solid burn consistency—PurHeat Premium Hardwood Pellets are a good contender. Just verify freshness and storage before buying in bulk.

1.0stars seems generous for Pur Heat?
Absolute worst example of a pellet fuel i have come across in 20 years of burning home heat pellets. Ash content is ridiculous. Clean stove with good draft continues to overfill firepot.

Pure Heat Pellets 2 stars
I agree that Pure Heat Pellets are sub standard. Unfortunately Menards staff buyers never heated with a pellet stove. I have to sift out the saw dust when I use them

BAD WOOD PELLETS
11/2021. PurHeat Hardwood Pellets are one of the worst I have used. They have so much bark and dirt mixed in I have to clean my pellet stove 3 times in 24 hours to keep it operational.
With high quality pellets I can run it at least 3 days continuously before a cleaning.
