   My new pellet stove was smoking up the outdoors for weeks, burn basket had a blackened hard wad sticking in it after each 40 lb bag, and I was having to burn nearly 3 bags each day. Bags came with small cuts along the top and bottom. Met all required standards for high quality; certified, softwood, etc. Tractor Supply brand. Stove company said all problems should be cured if I switched brands. Got TerrAmigo, about $2.50 higher per 40 lb bag, same specs. They burned clean immediately, only a bit of pale gray ash to clean from burn pot, one bag burns as long as the 2.5 – 3 TS bags. Zero smoke outside. If I can figure how to afford the TerrAmigo bags, I will use them exclusively from now on.

   Pros

   • Burn very clean and efficiently, great heat output, almost zero ashes to clean out, bag in good shape, pellets in good condition with very minimal dust. One bag burned about as long as almost three Tractor Supply bags, with better heat output, yet both meet same specs for premium standard.

   Cons

   • TS bags were around $6.19 for 40 lb bags, TerrAmigo was around $8.49 per bag.

   I thought Heaters was a sorry pellet until I bought a ton of TerrAmigo. Now I really know what Sorry is! I have to clean my fire box every three hours.
