Virginia Golden Premium Softwood Wood Pellets are produced in Virginia using locally sourced Southern Yellow Pine sawdust and wood shavings from the lumber industry. Designed to deliver high heat output with minimal ash production, these premium softwood pellets offer an alternative to traditional hardwood heating pellets.

According to the manufacturer, Virginia Golden pellets produce less than 0.5% ash and deliver up to 8,980 BTU per pound on a dry basis. Their low advertised ash content may help reduce ash accumulation and routine cleaning compared with higher-ash pellet products.

These wood pellets are manufactured by compressing residual wood fiber under high heat and pressure, producing dense, uniform fuel for residential pellet heating appliances.

What Makes Virginia Golden Wood Pellets Different?

Virginia Golden pellets are made from Southern Yellow Pine, a softwood species known for its potential to produce strong heat output when processed into wood pellet fuel. Unlike hardwood blends, these pellets use softwood fiber sourced from Virginia’s lumber industry.

The manufacturer’s advertised ash content of less than 0.5% is particularly noteworthy. Lower ash production can mean less frequent ash removal, although actual performance will depend on your pellet stove, burn settings, maintenance, and operating conditions.
