I always cringe when the local store runs out of other pellets. Last year I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my stove suddenly had horrible heat output. Turns out, it was just the Maine’s Choice pellets. Our local store only had Maine’s Choice this weekend and I was forced to buy them because no other store locally carried them. The heat output is just as bad as I remember it. Literally every other pellet I have purchased seems to work exponentially better than these. That was the last time I buy these. It’s a waste of money.
Bought pellets at Walmart ran out now burning tsc pellets in my Englander pellet furnace Maine’s choice burned the best by far need to find dealer close to Claremont NH to get more low ash output better heat
I’ve used Maine’s Choice in all three of my pellets stoves for the past two seasons. I never had a problem with them up until this season. It seems that the QC(quality control) is lacking. Each of my stoves continuously back up due to the augers getting jammed because of over sized pellets. If they can’t get this issue under control. Ill buy my 5 tons from someone else. Its not worth the issue to save $10 a ton.
I burned these two winters ago and swore never again. Perhaps they have changed the formulation, but, while the heat output was okay, that ash created meant I had to empty the ash pan at least twice a week and the glass became dirty far quicker than with other pellets burned. I use a Harman P43
I have had an Englander stove for 8 years, have used many pellet brands, both hard and soft. Maine’s Choice is my favorite. They produce more heat than any other. I clean my stove once a month for preventive reasons rather than necessity, never jams the augers.

Burn, heat, ash OK
The bag from Walmart reads:
ash ,75 %, Moisture 6 %, Fines .25 %
100 % hard wood.
They are $4.50 a bag.
They burn fine although they produce a lot of ash.
We’ve run them at -10F just fine.
