SUPER PREMIUM 100% HARDWOOD. Found throughout New England, NY, NJ, OH, Penn
Valfei super premium wood pellets are made of 100% hardwood, mostly maple, oak and wild cherry. They are produced in our Shawinigan (Quebec, Canada) production plant.
I have tried numerous pellet brands and for my stove these were the worst. I own a heatilator PS35 and have mainly used Genevas(work best for my stove so far). I bought one ton of the Ambiance brand late last season because of the shortage. Lots of soot and ash. My stove ran fine until I used these pellets. I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN!
Was looking for a replacement brand for New England wood pellets that produced less ash. Tried 9 different brands including a few days worth of so-called premium (the $300+/ton stuff). Ambiance had the best heat output and there was significantly less ash than the rest. Theyre also reasonably priced around $250ish per ton as of 2014.
Had a couple bags of these when I first bought my stove and can honestly say, I wish I woulda bought a couple tons while they were in stock. These had low ash when I tried them and high heat output. I ran these in my CAB 50.
I have a Quadra Fire Santa Fe pellet stove and normally burn Greene Team pellets. A pellet stove store rather close to me recommend these stating they are a great product with low ash and high heat. On the plus side, the heat seems as good as my previous brand however unfortunately I have found that they tend to create more ash then I’ve seen in any other brand I’ve used. My pellet stove now must be cleaned every 12-24 hours or else it barely runs. I use to be able to go 3-5 days with little worry. I think once this ton is burned though I will be going back to Greene team. I cant see how so many people claim it burns so well. I’ve been nothing but frustrated
I’ve been a big fan of Greene Team until the demand was so high this year I had to switch back and forth buying by the bags. The only thing the local store (as other stores ran out) had was this Ambiance which was pricier but really didn’t have any choice. In fact I had to buy a ton because I didn’t know how long this sold-out state would be and didn’t want to risk not having fuel. I’ve been pretty happy with it so far; burns hotter than the Greene Team and the ash is fairly low. I may have to consider getting few tons for next winter!
I have burned many different types of pellets over the years in my Enviro stoves and I decided to try these out so I purchased a couple of tons. For a super premium pellet I feel that it definitely under performs. The ash content is really good I will admit but the heat output is low compared to others that I have used. When it’s cold I want heat, that’s what the stoves are for and If I have to burn twice as many pellets to get the heat I need compared to other brands than I don’t feel like they are worth using.
Bought 10 bags of these as I just bought a Harmon P35i for an existing fireplace. While I am no expert on pellets I have tried the TSC pellets, Agway brand pellets and New England Premium Hardwood Pellet Fuel. I would say these are the best I have used so far….light fluffy ash and not a lot of it. Agway was a close second and only $10 cheaper per ton. I will take the easier to manage ash and better burn.
Best Pellets ever! Would reccomend these to anyone! They burn hot and last a long time. And the ash very minimum. But that also depends on your stove. I have a Harman P61 and its Awesome. I can burn around 30 bags before i empty my bin. Great in Cold Cold weather here in Northern Maine.
Burned Valfei Ambiance exclusively winter ’12/13 and found it to be a very hot and clean burning fuel. Purchased as needed from Stove Keepers in Brookline NH for $250/ton.
