Barefoot wood pellets are a superior low ash pellet. These pellets are manufactured from clean sawdust and other clean lumber materials from cabinets, hardwood flooring, etc. from woods such as cherry, maple, white/red oak & walnut. This pellet is smaller in diameter and offers high BTUs. The Barefoot facilities are located in Troy, Pa. They are consistent from batch to batch and has very few fines.
Review of Barefoot Hardwood Pellets
I have always loved these pellets and I look forward to burning them year after year.

ihave a p38 harmon that gets regular cleaning and have been burning barefoots all winter. overall the pellets burn hot with very little ash but they are very inconsistant in size and texture. the heat output changes too. some pellets are dark with shorter pieces and burn real well, some are mixed with lighter and longer pieces and still burn good and some are all light colored with slightly longer pieces that smell stale. they burn like a cheap pellet. what happened here. all bags are marked 04/12. looks to me like old pellets were repackaged and sent back out. at 280 a ton i have to say bye/bye barefoots.
I have an Englander 25EP, Barefoots burn GREAT! They are about 30 to 40 degrees hotter than any other pellet I have tried. They are worth the extra money. I’ll be buying a lot more of these very soon.
I heard nothing but raving reviews of these and my brother swears by them. I bought 10 bags to try and must say I just didn’t see what everyone else was raving about. The ash wasn’t any less than what I was getting with New England wood pellets and the heat was roughly the same. I don’t mind the ash as we clean the stove 2-3 times a week, but I was expecting better performance for the nearly $2 more a bag.
Timberwolf TPS35 cleaned every 3rd day
I have a Mt Vernon AE Insert and these hardwoods are one of my favorites. They burn hot and clean. Fines are minimal and pellet size is consistent throughout the ton I burned last season. I highly recommend.
Very little dust when putting into our Harmon XXV. I generally clean stove and glass once or twice a day but have very little ash to deal with. We burn 3 ton every winter. Tried a Maine-made pellet last year [$1.50 per bag cheaper] but the dust, ash and clinkers were terrible. We will stick with Barefoot for sure!
Avalon Astoria stove. These pellets burn great, low ash, and the glass stays clean longer. However I paid $6 a bag for them and for a little under $4 a bag I can get a cheaper pellet that burns just as hot for me although I have to deal with a little more ash. For me it’s a no brainer..I’ll burn the cheaper one and save quite a bit over the course of the winter. This stove seems to be able to burn anything and have never had an auger clog or clunkers.
burning these now. no clinkers. bought in july. glass partially dirty after a week. a quick wipe and vacuum and the stove is set.

Great heat, very consistent low amount of fines, low ash, clean burning, very little soot while igniting. Watch out for clinkers. My stove, Lopi Pioneer Bay
These pellets burn great in my Westpoint stove. High heat output, clean burning, hardly any fines and not one auger jam after burning 4 tons.
They burn great in my Lopi Pioneer Bay. Lots of heat, clean burning. Burned 6 bags so far and the glass is still clean.
