Hotter, Drier and Cleaner than Pellet Fuels Institute national “Premium” standards
The Pellet Fuels Institute (PFI) set standards for all pellets, including “Premium.” Cascade pellets exceed these standards in several important ways, making them Ultra Premium:
Summary
These were fantastic pellets a few years back. I’m hoping to get a new bag for this 2018-19 heating season

I purchased a ton of Cascade pellets and loved how little ash! But when I went back to Home Depot they had a different brand! I live in Colorado and would like to know where I can purchase more!

I bought 5 bags of Cascade 100% Douglas Fir pellets at Home Depot. Pellets contain dirt and clay which encrusts the burner pot. The pot has to be cleaned after each 1/2 bag is burned. Otherwise it will not ignite the pellets next time. I will be returning the remaining pellets to HD.

Best pellets
Cascade Doug Fir pellets this year are the best I’ve had in 24 years of burning with my Whitfield Adv.II. Very little ash. Home Depot had them only briefly. Can’t find them anywhere now- back to Heatrs,,,unfortunately.

The more I read about pellets the more confused I get! I have been using Cascade pellets this season (25 bags) in my Whitfield Advantage II Stove. Two weeks it started to smoke excessively and the window was covered with resin like sticky, which I cleaned off with acetone… and vacuumed the stove. I decided to take the Whitfield out of service after 18 years and purchased a new Heat Tech pellet insert. I filled it with Cascade pellets and it started to gew up the window with the first bag. The heat is hot on low and the pellets have a lot of fines.. The manufacturer of our new stove recommended Bear Mountain pellets. I will try them when I run out of these Cascade pellets. We have had a bad fire season and I am wondering if they use the burned trees from fire’s to make pellets? Thank You for reading this, please let me know with suggestions. Bill in California
I’ve been burning the “Clean Burning” pellets for years and have been satisified overall. However, they are $7.50/bag locally vs. Cascade Douglas Fir Pellets at $5.50 bag at Home Depot AND Cascade lists all the ash, moisture and btu ratings which are all excellent. So far, after a month and approximately 20 bags burned, I’m very happy I switched both in terms of cost and performance — low ash, clean burn and good BTU especially for price. I bought a new Quadrafire model1200 to replace my 20+ year old Quadrafire model 800.
I have never had so many issues with pellets in my life, until i made the mistake of purchasing these cascade pellets. I bought them at a home depot, because my feed store that sells my normal pellets was closed. I read the description, and the reviews and figured i would have no problems, wow was i wrong. I bought a couple of bags and half of the bag was sawdust, i was very disappointed. The second day my hopper kept over flowing even though the oxygen was set on high and the dropper was on the lowest setting. I thought something was wrong with my stove, These pellets just do not burn hot or quick enough, The 3rd day of burning my auger froze up due to the various long pellets that were in the bag jamming it up, i thought it was odd how many really long pellets there were, and it continued to over flow after i opened it up and got it unjammed. I finally vacuumed out the auger and stove and cleaned out all of those pellets and put my old brand in and have had no problems since.
I have a lopi
Have used a quadrafire pellet stove for last 3 years as our only source of heat in our home, new to using a pellet stove we have used 2 or 3 different pellet manufacturers, by accident we bought 5 bags of Cascade pellets, to our surprise they are the hottest, cleanest burning pellets. The other pellets caused us so much grief that we actually hated the pellet stove. But us purchasing the Cascade pellets, we now enjoy our pellet stove and stay warm at the same time

Hello,
Just wanted to put in my two cents worth. I began the year with a ton of Bear Mountain. Far more ash than previous years. Not producing as much heat as in the past.
Purchased a Ton of Olympus ‘Cascade” a couple of weeks ago. When comparing consumption during comparable weather conditions, the Cascade pellets have out performed the Bear Mountain pellets. About a 25% improvement with Cascade. House also feels warmer (fewer complaints from spouse).
I had been cleaning the stove approximately ever ten bags. I assumed the same after first ten bags of Cascade pellets, but discovered less than a 1/4″ layer of ash when I open the stove. Ten bags of Bear Mountain ash would overflow into the burn pot and out of the front door when opened.
Quadra-Fire Contour stove.
