      Review of Curran Hardwood Pellets

2018 – WOW what a great pellet this year.  I received my bag in the mail a few days ago and wanted to fire them up right away.  This year I found that the heat was really high!  Could not put my hand right infront of the blower.  Even though the ash filled 1/2 the mason jar (image coming soon), it was super fluffy with no clinks.  Very nice pellet and the heat could almost compete with a doug fir pellet.  Nice work Curran family!  keep it up.

      Pros

      • high heat
      • solid bag
      • low fines
      • smells great

      Cons

      • fluffy ash but heat offsets this totally

Something is definitely different with your hardwood pellets this season. No doubt about it. Everyone is bitching about your hardwood pellets this yr. We live in upstate ny & have 3 pellet stoves & have bought your product for years & have never had such problems! the soot is pure black & the windows are dirty within hours, all of our stoves are not performing and the ash is enormous. I’m sure rookies using your product this year ARENT prepared for the small explosions because the pellets aren’t igniting as soon as they should & a big pile has to accumulate then it ignites & an internal combustion of some sort happens and smoke pours out from the pressure, scared the hell out of me the first time a couple mos ago. I didn’t realize how dangerous that happening really is.blah blah We should have changed brands then. So I blame myself at this point!! We are loyal to a point of dumbness. I’m USN my husband is USMC…Our stoves need to be cleaned almost every day! We have burned 6 ton already with our propane furnace at 68•..We are both retired and VETS! We aren’t still wet behind the ears & have lived an amazing life with more to come. Sorry gonna have to cut you out of our WILL!!! Hope you can rectify the quality. We know that you pay for what you get! Can’t recommend your product anymore!

        Never again

        Pros

        • The heat is good. Packaged well.

        Cons

        • These pellets leave so much dust in the house. The bags are full of small pellet dust. Just dumping them into the hopper a plum of wood dust fills the air. When burning it leaves behind tons of dust to clean up in the house. I had to buy an air purifier to reduce the house dust. I will never buy these pellets again!!!!!!!!!!!!

      3. lots of ash turns the glass black and clumps in the ash pot. I have to clean my stove twice a day. Don’t waist your money

      4. these pellets are awful, huge ash leftovers and my house smells like glue. we all have sore throats from it.
