I purchased a ton of Heat’rs Pellets at Home Depot on 2/1/15 I have a Quadra-Fire Pellet stove, this is the first batch of Heat’rs pellets that I have purchased and will never use them again !!! I had to purchase the brand of pellets that i was using previously and mix them to get rid of the Heat’rs pellets !!! These are by far the worst pellets I have ever used and would not recommend them to anyone !!
Purchased three tons of these from Home Depot early in the season. We’ve burned through them and will never buy them again unless we have no other choice. They are much dirtier than when we previously used them and we had to babysit the stove as they wouldn’t slide/feed. Left a hole down the middle and fire went out. We have an Englander stove and no other brand gives us this issue and Heatrs didn’t either until this batch. Emailed the company to explain my issue. It’s like gettting into Fort Knox and then they don’t respond. That’s not customer service worth my future business!
Have had absolutely nothing but trouble with Heat’rs. Like night and day to other brands I’ve used.
Low Heat Output. The Jamestown normally runs at a setting of 1 with the trim pot turned way down and would produce good heat for about 34 hours on 1 bag. Not now. I’m getting about 20 hours out of a bag. On both stoves I’ve had to increase the feed rate 2 clicks just to keep the stoves running at a minimum and if I want to get the heat output that I get from other brands I have to 4 clicks.
IF I’M INCREASING THE FEED RATE TO GET A GOOD BURN HOW AM I SAVING $$$ ? No, it’s not the stoves. I’ve switched back to the brand I was using for the past few seasons, which was Inferno, and everything would go back to normal.
Feed Jams, Blowouts and Burn Pot Clogs: Have had more jams on the Jamestown than the St. Croix but more trouble with blowouts on the former. Trying to get a good minimum burn rate when adjusting the air input too little air and the pot doesn’t clean and too much you’ll blowout and the line is very fine.
Have “tested” several bags each Currans mix (267.00) – PA (270) – LaCrete (329) – Platinum Fire (329) – Pennington (260) and Heatr’s (237) these being the brands within convenient distance.
The Heatr’s burned quite well and although I prefer the LeCrete as 1st choice and Platinum’s as a close second the difference does not justify the premium cost.
The heatr’s burn well, reasonable ash amount and almost no fines (although I am not too concerned with fines as the Serenity does not seem to mind them).
Have had noi issue with the sticky issue referred to here so far but if it crops its head I will simply mix them with some Crete.
2 ton Heatr’s 1 ton Lecrete odd bags of Pennington, Curran, and PA
We are using a Harman P43 to heat our 2100 sq ft Cape Chalet with open floor plan. We bought three ton of heatr’s this year at our local Home Depot for $239 pr ton. They burn relatively hot, with moderate ash and almost no carbon buildup in the burn pot. Not too many fines, and no oversize pellets. I have no problems at all with them and will definitely buy more.
Have an Englander stove and never had a problem like with these Heat’rs pellets they take forever to lite and they stick to the sides of the hopper stove goes out not good, also allot of dust. Won’t buy them again!!!!
Have an Englander made stove, multi-fuel 10-CPM. We purchased Heatrs from Home Depot 11/14 and have trouble with them sticking so they don’t feed and the fire goes out. No clinker or clog, just stop feeding down through. First time I thought it was out of pellets. Opened the lid and there was a large quantity of pellets left with a hole in the middle. This has happened several times. Whatever the “glue” is holding these pellets together does not let pellets slide easily. We used this product last year without any issues so stocked up. Not so happy with that decision since this problem has been occurring.
I purchased three bags of heaters at my local home depot to try. I started with a clean stove and the Heaters brand purged through the auger. I had to turn my stove up three numbers to get the same heat I was getting out of last years Stove Chow. My door glass was dirty in five hours, it usually takes 2-3 days to get that dirty. Also they smelled like recycled card board right out of the bag. they were the worst pellets I have burned in three years . I do not recommend these pellets , I will be returning the other two bag today nov 2014
We have a Quadra-Fire older stove, we purchased 4 ton of these last year from Home Depot for 220.00 per ton. The worst pellets ever, ton of ash and huge clunkers. Had to clean stove just about every other day. Not only that but the pellet residue would clog the auger about 1-2 times per week. my recommendation, Find another pellet
