Clean Burn brand of wood pellets contain none of the bark, dirt or insects associated with burning wood. The low moisture content of the Clean Burn wood pellets results in nearly total combustion when used in an approved wood pellet stove, reducing emissions and creosote buildup almost entirely. Wood pellets cost less per energy unit than almost all fuels. Clean Burn pellets are made from 100% wood sawdust and shavings which are dried, screened, ground and compressed in Tacoma, Washington. The pellets produce a consistently high BTU, low ash fuel. No additives or binders are used in the process.

Burned a lot of these in the past but they are $7.50/bag locally vs. Cascade Douglas Fir Pellets at $5.50 bag AND Cascade lists all the ash, moisture and BTu ratings which are all excellent. So far, I’m happy I switched both in terms of cost and performance. I agree with earlier comment, I don’t understand why Clean Burn pellet ratings aren’t available here?
I used these a few years back and they were made from wood that had been in salt water. Destroyed baffles, fire pot and sensors! Willing to pay more for pellets from east of the Cascades than to rebuild stove! Quadrafire
The warning label says not to use Clean Burn for human or animal consumption, when it is made from 100% sawdust with no binding chemicals. What makes it so different from other wood pellets used for cooking?
Burn poorly in my new Lopi
Been using cleanburn many yrs. This yr. clog the burn pot in my old Whitfield more than usual but still satisfactorily.Had the stove professionaly cleaned in summer.Have a new $3000.00 Lopi in basement, they dont burn completely, fill the Huge ash box in 2 days w/ half burned pellets.Switched to Olympus, complete burn and flyash, ashtray fills in 10 days.Same settings of air and feed.Been burning pellets 23 yrs, started w/ a Jamestown, know what I am talkin about.
Clean burn does not have the high btu, versious, the pack saddle brand. It takes 5 hours longer to heat the house. I started the stove at 9:30 am and the house was not heated up till 4 pm. Not a good choose to buy.
Why doesn’t anyone give the btu’s or ash content so we can compare?
This is the first year that Manke clean burn pellets have grossly underperformed. They clog the tray after 8 hours and don’t burn complete. I will switch brands after several years.
I’ve been burning clean for 4 plus years and never had trouble with them until this year. Burning twice as many pellets, flares up, fire pot fills up sometimes over flowing and half the pot is full of unburned pellets, glass in door turns black in first day after cleaning and having to clean it lots more often. Something definitely changed. Goino back to bear mountain
james town stove burned clean burn 4 years could burn 20 bags with out need of cleaning fire pot . this year 1 bag clogs fire pot with 1/2 inch of clunkers.some thing has changed.
