I bought two tons of Inferno pellets a couple of years ago and were the worst pellets I ever used. They would be great in the summer to air condition my house. They must be ice cubes in pellet form. Wouldn’t take any more of these even if they were free. Had to clean my stove at least once a day and sometimes twice. I burned them in a Cornflame stove. Couldn’t even melt butter on the stove.
I don’t understand how the reviews can be so different. Some people love ’em some people hate ’em. I used to think it was from batch to batch getting a different mix of source materials and sold under the same brand. Now I’m starting to think that it is more a matter of your particular stove. I lucked out and got some Inferno pellets at Lowes Concord NH 3/9/2014 during a pellet shortage. Someone was returning tons so I was concerned about what I might be getting. What a pleasant surprise when I starting burning these. They burn hotter than anything else I have tried so far, (except maybe the same as Cubex) allowing me to slow down the feed rate, and the glass is staying clean. I’m only on my second bag so I don’t have long term information. I usually shut it down for a quick cleaning daily but I skipped it today. I have an older Lopi Pioneer I bought used, so it’s a top feeder. It is piped into a central chimney in an old home where a wood stove used to be.
You get what you pay for Period. This is G-Lopes getting rid or His waste from his transfer station. This is why they smell like Plastic and other matter in each pellet. Burn like crap and twice as fast. Just now Robert Kraft has his hands in it . So stay tuned
these pellets produce decent heat if you dont mind cleaning your stove once a weak. i have burned some very high quality pellets before living in vermont and i would never buy these againg unless there were no other options.
First time using Inferno pellets in my Harman fireplace insert and they are giving the hottest nicest looking fire I have had yet,
i have been useing these for 2 years now, i have no complaints with the quality but the last 2 tons i have found about 12 bags that were not a full 40 lbs , i put them on bathroom scale and they read about 30 lbs.
Left large black bricks in my sph55 stove and plugged up everything. The pellits don’t smell like wood but rather plastic and petroleum products. These pellets should be banned…….I normally run green supreme, but Lowes ran out.
Worst pellets I’ve ever purchased! Bought 4 tons.
The statement on the bag claims to have low ash content, which I s a false statement. Excessive amounts of ash and several times per day, I have to remove the lava rock type chucks from the burn pot that causes airflow restrictions. For a premium hardwood, it burns exceedly fast. If this is premium quality as stated on the bag, I would like to know what your definition of quality is? These pellts are poor quality.
Will never recommend!
Never Again. Bought 4 tons of this shit and it only leaves big clinker build up and have to down the stove daily. Only bought this toxic shit because I have trust in Eldredge Hardware in York Me to have quality material, probably toxic waste and we are getting rid of it for them. Sending a bag to the Maine state Crime Lab to see. Thanx Skip
