Okanagan Douglas Fir is one of the best wood pellet on the market. Burning hotter, longer, and cleaner than any other wood pellet, Okanagan Douglas Fir has set the standard for super premium fuel pellets. Made from 100% Douglas Fir Softwood, Okanagan Douglas Fir does not use recycled wood, additives, plastic or waxes. Additionally, the very low ash content of this product results in less cleaning and maintenance of your stove, boiler, or furnace.
Summary
2018 – would love to burn some this year.

The company is great to deal with and very helpful. The pellets are awesome they burn hot and leave next to no ash
I had the good fortune to get my hands on the Douglas Fir product from Okanagan this year. These pellets reached the highest standards I have seen for maximum heat and minimal ash. I have a Harman XXV that sits in the center of a large, open saltbox. The demands we put on this unit are intense, heating 3000 sq. ft. and lots of cubic feet of open space. These pellets set a record for inside/outside temperature differential this year: 69*/2*, without any supplementary heating…and the ash is the lowest I have seen. We are into our 6th ton this season. If I can get them, I will buy 6 tons of DF over the summer for next season. For me, they are worth every penny.
They are the best…by far.
Thanks…. I gave in and bought 5 bags of the Okanagan Douglas Firs at East Coast Lumber in Hampstead NH. I paid $7.95 per bag. Was apprehensive about spending the money for these considering my documented bad luck with premium and super premium pellets, and the constant ridicule from my wife, but I did it. I have to say, these are the best pellets I have used! Out perform every other pellet by far and aren’t even really comparable! The heat from these pellets is amazing. I fell asleep on my couch with the stove on manual….I woke up sweating because it was 80* inside! the hottest any other pellet ever got my living room was 76*….When I emptied the 5 bags into the stove and hold containers, there was barely a coating of dust on the bottom of the sift bucket! No fines at all! And the ash in the stove was barely visible after burning all 5 bags! Burn pot was virtually ashless and glass on stove was still clear! The bags themselves were the sturdiest bags of any pellet I’ve tried….Ok, so the only complaint is the price…..At $377/ton, plus delivery, i’m not sure it’s worth it. Maybe a couple tons for middle of winter would work. Hopefully some other local places will catch on to these and start selling them so the price may come down. Awesome, Awesome Pellet! I have a Quadra Fire CB 1200 that is kept spotless….
These pellets along with oknagan reds and vermont pellets are sold at pellets-r-us in berkley, ma. I believe the business is called J&s trucking or something like that. I buy most of my pellets there. Great people!
I would like to try these pellets…the only place I can find them is at east coast lumber in Hampstead NH. They are $380/ ton….anyone know where I can find them cheaper near Salem, NH?
As stated by others, this is by far the absolute best and most consistent pellet available. I am burning them in my Jamestown J2000. I can run the stove 24/7 on setting 3 for a week before having to clean the glass. Super hot, very low ash. Averaging 2 bags a day lately, I have to clean my stove twice a month. They really are that good. A little dusty at the bottom of the bag but nothing to be upset about. Just finished my 2nd ton and having 2 more delivered.
I would agree with the previous positive statements, these are truly the best pellets on the market.
Highly recommend this product.
Been Using these pellets quite a bit, And I don’t think I could be anymore happier with them. I’m using them in an Englander Pellet Stove 55-Shp22. The heat output is great. I was hooked on Okanagan Platinum and didn’t think their would be a pellet that could match the quality, heat and cleanliness of the Platinum’s. But than the Okanagan Douglas Fir came along and realized that these pellets without a doubt are the cleanest burning pellets on the market. Besides being very hot and veryyyyy low on ash( and that’s an understatement) I have never seen a pellet where the glass stays crystal clear for days before I would shut my stove down to do a good cleaning which isn’t much cleaning at all. But they leave hardly any residue on the glass.
These are definitely a Highly Recommended Pellet.
These pellets are simply the best. In fact on the bag the slogan should read ” so hot you will have to open a window” I dare any other pellet to match that. These pellets eliminate the existence of any other product in my mind and stove………
